MEET OUR TEAM
Dr. Gex is a native New Orleans. His passions include food, the New Orleans Saints football team, and traveling. The symbol for the Saints is the Fleur de Lis, which you will notice incorporated in various ways into his practice. As a thirteen-year-old, Dr. Gex witnessed a delivery of a baby and it became his passion from that day forward. It is that passion and nearly 20 years of experience as a physician for women, that have been the motivation for Gex Women's Care.
Dr. Gregory P. Gex
Dr. Gex is a native of New Orleans. He received his Medical Degree and Residency Training in OB/Gyn from Tulane Affiliated and Charity Hospitals in New Orleans. His experience includes a brief private practice in Austin, TX before joining Southwest Medical Associates (SMA) here in Las Vegas in 1992. At SMA, Dr. Gex was Chief and Medical Director for Women's Services from 1994 to 2001. Dr. Gex has now returned to private practice with the opening of Gex Women's Care in 2007.
Dr. Gex is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Maria, RN, BSN, LCCE
Office Manager, Childbirth Educator
Maria is a native of Las Vegas, who has worked in the nursing profession for over 30 years, specializing in women's care. Maria completed her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1978, then her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UNLV in 1992. Maria received her certification in Lamaze Childbirth Education in 1995 and has enjoyed teaching mothers-to-be, and guiding them through their pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum experience. She has also taught Diabetes and Cholesterol Management, along with Healthy Pregnancy classes at Southwest Medical Associates. Maria was honored by the March of Dimes with the Nurse of the Year Award in Maternity in 1993.
Mitchell, Medical Assistant
Originally from California, Mitchell has experience as a Medical Assistant in the Ob/Gyn field. She brings with her the utmost in caring and compassion for the patients at Gex Women's Care. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Gladys, Administrative Assistant Front Office
A Native of Cuba, Gladys moved to Las Vegas in 1970. She has worked in Health Information Management here in Las Vegas and the Southwest Region since 1985. Gladys is in charge of the Front Office as Administrative Assistant at Gex Women’s Care.
